Position Summary

As a Landscape Maintenance Foreman in our Residential Maintenance division, you’ll be responsible for performing landscape duties using a company vehicle and supervising crewmembers.  To excel in this position you’ll need 1+ year of landscape maintenance experience and supervisory experience.  Your main duties are to perform landscaping duties, complete paperwork, communicate with Production Supervisors and direct the daily work activities of Crewmembers. 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • General knowledge of landscape maintenance, irrigation systems and landscape renovation.
  • Knowledge of proper horticulture practices
  • Ability to run small power equipment (mower, blower, large mowing equipment, etc)
  • Strong conflict resolutions skills
  • Cost effective decision making
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred

 

Education and Experience

  Required

  • 1+ years of landscape maintenance experience
  • Supervisor experience

 Preferred

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company guidelines for driver eligibility.

 

Duties

  1. Assist managers in conducting morning safety meetings
  2. Ensure daily safety inspection of equipment, vehicles and job sites.
  3. Complete daily paperwork, including but not limited to, employee timesheets, numbers of vehicle and equipment used, and billing sheets for any extra billable work if assigned by Production Supervisor.
  4. Perform landscape duties, including but not limited to, pruning, planting and mowing.
  5. Initiate repair of any malfunctioning or unsafe equipment.
  6. Communicate with Production Supervisor on topics such as, but not limited to, Crewmembers, equipment issues and job related concerns.
  7. Conduct Daily Vehicle Inspections (DVIR) on vehicles driven that day.  Vehicles not driven that day should have that indicated on the DVIR.
  8. Assign daily tasks to Crewmembers
  9. During winter months, work with seasonal crews for snow and ice removal
  10. Application of chemicals and fertilizers
  11. Responsible for monthly Career Development of Crewmembers
  12. Customer relations
  13. Ensure that all safety incidents are documented and reported immediately.
  14. Assure that personnel adhere to all company policies
  15. Manage site hours to maintain budget
  16. General housekeeping of shop and yard
  17. Must maintain a state driver’s license and meet company guidelines for driver eligibility, if driving a company vehicle.
  18. Adhere to uniform and PPE guidelines
  19. Work safely
  20. Understand and comply with all company policies
  21. Regular attendance and punctual for scheduled shift
  22. Perform other related duties as assigned
