Construction Foreman - Landscape Comm

We engage in all areas of Landscaping, including Landscape maintenance, construction and design for Commercial and Residential projects.

 

Position Summary

This full-time position is for someone who has experience in landscape construction or a related field.  Construction Foreman are responsible for assigning tasks to crew members, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with clients.  You must have thorough knowledge of landscape installation, irrigation and lighting and hardscape installation.  Must be able to work in all weather conditions, communicate in English, lift up to 75 lbs and pass pre-employment drug test.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of grading and drainage, proper use of laser level
  • Knowledge of proper pruning
  • Knowledge of hardscape construction
  • Thorough knowledge of landscape and irrigation installation
  • Ability to operate small equipment and hand tools with competency
  • Able to communicate in English, both written and verbally
  • Read and understand plans, using scales
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test before starting work and throughout the year if needed.
  • Cost effective decision making
  • Able to meet deadlines

 

Education and Experience

  Required

  • 2-3 years of experience in landscape construction or related field

  Preferred

  • Valid driver’s license with clear record and DOT Medical exam
  • High School diploma/GED

 

Essential Functions

  1. Assign daily tasks to crew members
  2. Install all phases of landscape and irrigation following plans and specifications.
  3. Complete time cards, invoices, job sheets and change orders
  4. Maintain accurate record of labor, equipment, and materials (Checkbook)
  5. Estimate labor, equipment and material
  6. Coordinate subcontractors to keep company and client interests intact
  7. Provide weekly flowchart that realistically projects crew, equipment and material needs along with projected completion time lines.
  8. Responsible for monthly Career Development of crew, including documentation
  9. Maintain open communication with general contractors and landscape architect
  10. Cooperate with administrative support
  11. Assure that personnel adhere to all company policies
  12. Establish, maintain and promote safe working practices and environment including daily pre task plans.
  13. Work safely
  14. Stay current with Education requirements
  15. Proper operation and care of company tools and equipment
  16. Obtain licensing and certifications required by DSDL
  17. Regular attendance and punctual for scheduled shift
